JOB DETAILS:Position in the organization:
The Assistant Researcher (Lab Technologist/ microbiologist) will be affiliated to the Clinical Trials and BVDRD Directorates and report to the project lead, PI.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Contributes to the quality and timely delivery of field & laboratory research results of the project by:-
• Preparing field & laboratory activity plan of the research project
• Securing the necessary field & lab resources and facilities for conducting the research activities
• Carrying out and coordinate the day to day laboratory operations including but not limited to sample collection and/or ensuring its proper collection from health facilities & transport of samples to lab and/or facilitate its transfer to AHRI, ensuring bacterial culture & identification, isolate storage & other study procedures are run per the study Protocol & SOPs at the lab with frequent field visit.
• Coordinate field, clinical and lab activities and ensuring quality of study forms completion, sample collection & transport.
• Coordinate and monitor recruitment and follow-up of patients, controls & contacts in the study.
• Participate in community sensitization and follow-up of study participants
• Serve as the primary technical & admin contact person for all project related lab activities
2 Contributes to training and ensure the efficient and effective utilization of field and laboratory resources by:-
• Facilitating preparation and delivery of training programs and/or deliver training to site staff as necessary
• Facilitate preparation and utilization of the field and lab research project resources
• In collaboration with the project coordinator, anticipate the research project’s material needs and requesting supplies on time
3. Perform other project related duties as required by:
• Preparing field and lab reports of project activities
• Preparing and submitting periodic reports on the lab performance of the project
• Field visit and supervision of all project activities in the clinic, lab & field during data & sample collection
• Other related responsibilities as requested by the project leader and/or director as necessary
Job Requirements
- MSc in Laboratory Sciences; OR
- BSc in Laboratory Sciences and minimum two years of working experience
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 for male and 2.75 for female

• Preparing patient recruitment plan of the research project in the study hospitals & HCs
• Recruiting study patients per the required criteria in ECCP project
• securing the necessary resources and facility for conducting the research project
• carrying out the day to day operation including data collection, supervision of the clinical and lab activities of the research project with possible field visit
• ensure the quality of data collected per the study protocol and required standards
• Assisting and/or coordinate the research project team members.
• Coordinate and monitor recruitment and follow-up of patients, controls & contacts in ECCP study
• Participating in community sensitization and follow-up of study participants as necessary
• Serve as technical & admin contact person for all project related activities in the assigned study site and health facilities

JOB DETAILS:Job Description
The main objective of the research work is to map previous dialogue initiatives in Ethiopia by identifying their objectives, processes, participants, achievements challenges, and lessons to inform the work on ENDC moving forward. The research is also expected to identify, analyse, and contextualize international best practices to facilitate broader learning for ENDC.
The researchers will be involved in leading research assignments that aimed to identify previous dialogue initiatives and international best practices to inform the work of ENDC with lessons and policy recommendations.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Produce a mapping and synthesis of previous dialogue initiatives by different stakeholders at national, regional, and local.
• Produce synthesize evidence on the theme, processes, and challenges of the previous dialogue initiatives that may be related to their overlaps in activity, contested legitimacy, and varying degree of acceptance.
• Produce a synthesis of international best practices on dialogue initiatives to help ENDC adopt workable methods and approaches relevant to the context of Ethiopia.
• Draft lessons and policy recommendations together with an outlined strategy/roadmap for the ENDC to apply lessons and best practices in fulfilling its mandates.
• Disseminate the findings of the research and as well conduct learning workshops to share them with ENDC commissioners and members of the ENDC secretariat and other experts to be deployed
• Lead the development of a clear action plan/roadmap to launch and implement the national dialogue as informed by the lessons and policy recommendations of the research
• Work in harmony with the ENDC Commissioners, members of the secretariat, and other experts to accomplish the research, learning, and knowledge-sharing activities as well as facilitate the central activities of the ENDC
• Report briefly on the processes of the research and regularly guide on how the lessons and best practices extracted from the research support the work of the ENDC to discharge its mandates inclusively and transparently.
• Perform other tasks as required.
Qualification and Experience Required/desired
• Advanced university degree (master’s degree or above) in law, political science, peace and security studies, or other related social science studies
• A minimum of at least 12 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years with a senior role as a researcher
• An experience with a proven professional record in working in the field of peacebuilding/ non-violent conflict management systems /dialogue/ and dispute resolution systems
• An experience in working, writing, reporting, and researching or on dialogue, justice, peace, and conflict issues is advantageous

JOB DETAILS:Job Purpose
The ENDC is seeking to fill the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, who will take the primary responsibility for the design and implementation of M&E systems for the ENDC to ensure an efficient and effective national dialogue process at all levels. They will do so in collaboration with all stakeholders, setting up systems, processes, and procedures including well-defined indicators to facilitate the monitoring and evaluation process.
The main objective of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer position is to support the ENDC create an effective M&E system to regularly monitor national dialogue progresses for timely corrective actions and improvement to ensure a transparent and all-inclusive national dialogue process in Ethiopia.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Design and implement the M&E standard procedures, formats, and activities of the national dialogue process on agenda setting, participants selection, organizing dialogue sessions, and reporting and documentation of the processes at the local, regional, and national level
• Monitor and oversee the processes of the national dialogue regularly
• Assist the national dialogue team members (National Dialogue Coordinator- Agenda setting) in preparing reports from dialogue sessions
• Works in close collaboration with members of the national dialogue team and ENDC secretariat to ensure smooth implementation of the dialogue process
• Produce, monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports of the national dialogue processes by collecting and analysing different data against milestones agreed upon at the outset of the dialogue processes at all levels
• Report monthly, quarterly, and annual progress on all the national dialogue processes at the local, regional, and national levels to the Chief and Deputy Commissioners/head of the ENDC Secretariat
• Organize quarterly review meetings to evaluate the progress and challenges of the national dialogue processes with ENDC internal team members and key local, regional, and national stakeholders
• Suggest strategies to the Chief Commissioner and head of the Secretariate for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the dialogue processes by timely identifying bottlenecks and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks
• Provide feedback and recommend further improvement based on the progress, challenges, and lessons extracted through the regular monitoring and evaluation activities of the national dialogue processes
• Assist the Chief and Deputy Commissioners in preparing other relevant reports related to the dialogue processes
• Prepare and maintain a database on the outcomes of the regular monitoring and oversee activities in collaboration with relevant units/teams of the ENDC
• Perform any other tasks related to Monitoring, evaluating, and overseeing activities of the national dialogue activities
Qualification and Experience Required/desired
• Advanced university degree (master’s degree or above) in Project management, Monitoring, and Evaluation, political science, peace and security studies law, or other related social science studies
• A minimum of at least 12 years of relevant work experience involved in the design and implementation of M&E tools and methodologies applied in the context of non-governmental organizations
• Experience in supporting/facilitating monitoring and evaluation workshops and review meetings
• Demonstrated understanding of reporting standards and contents for comprehensive progress monitoring and reporting activities
• Excellent understanding of dialogue dynamics and processes along with the required skills package to design and implement M&E standard procedures, formats, and activities
