JOB DETAILS:
Overall purpose of the role:
The IT Officer will be responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of all IT technologies in DRC Gambella field office. The Officer will focus on the efficient setup, maintenance & administration of all DRC hardware, software and local networks. The IT Officer will, furthermore, ensure accessible and high-quality IT support & training to all DRC Gambella field office users, and will continually assess and identify the most appropriate IT solutions to meet the organization’s changing needs.

Responsibilities
• Assist in performing software installations and support day-to-day systems operations.
• Monitoring Troubleshooting the LAN and WAN.
• Provide hardware and software to both endpoints and server/commonly accessed services support.
• Performing preventive maintenance service on the IT equipment on a scheduled basis.
• Networking: Cisco Meraki, Routing, Switching, TCP/IP, NTP, LAN, WAN, Wireless, DNS, NFS, NIS, LDAP, SMTP, POP/IMAP, SSH, Telnet
• Security Solutions: Heimdal, Bitdefender, Exchange Online Protection, Cisco Meraki
• Maintain uptime of critical infrastructure and related business services and resources.
• Ensure all endpoints are protected with the organization’s recognized anti-virus solution.
• Perform general repairs on IT equipment and peripherals as instructed.
• Provide support on Cloud Solution based Enterprise solutions including Microsoft Office365(Share Point, Azure, Teams, OneDrive Mail, Yammer, etc),Hosted Domain System and Microsoft Dynamics ERP System
• Support to maintain an inventory schedule of all IT equipment and software in use and in the store, through diagnosing their status and performance.
• Maintain a record of all equipment received for repairs and maintenance.
• Ensure that internet invoices are received on time and forwarded to finance for payment.
• Provide help desk and technical support to the users.
• Provide Simple guidelines training to the staff during service time.
• Respond to and resolve IT service outages by determining the probable cause, contacting the service providers where necessary and escalating if necessary.

Job Requirements
Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
• Professional technical experience evidencing and demonstrating the ability to deliver against the above-mentioned responsibilities:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that provides regular challenges
• Clear understanding of automated user life cycle
• Heterogeneous Operating Systems including Windows, Linux and android (OS) and MacOS
• Messaging, Directory, and Name Server including Exchange Online, Azur Directory Server, DNS, DHC and Hosted Domain System
• Cloud Solution based Enterprise solutions including Microsoft Office365 (Share Point, Azure, Teams, OneDrive Mail, Yammer, etc),Hosted Domain System and Microsoft Dynamics ERP System

• Experience on cloud-based collaboration especially Modern SharePoint and Team

• Strong communication (written & spoken) and interpersonal skills, with a focus on proactive responses to queries
• Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work hands-on, independently, and within the team in a difficult work environment
• Experience working in remote locations and in emergency context and ability to travel and spend up to 50 % of the time in field locations;
• Perform any other IT-related duties as assigned

Education: (include certificates, licenses, etc.)
• BSc/BA in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in in a large-scale, busy multi-site environment s of international NGO
