• Job summary
• Senior System Administrator ensures the high availability, stability, security, and consistency of servers and storages, as well as datacenter facility of the Bank. The Senior System Administrator is responsible for administering IDC Application, troubleshooting problems, managing business user’s requirements and providing technical support across the bank.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage, configure and troubleshoot servers and storage as per the requirement of the solutions to be deployed.
• Configure IDC system based on the vendor’s software configuration guideline and technical specifications
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to software, hardware and networks
• Supervise the Operations team for system efficiency and effectiveness
• Train new system users and set up their accounts based on the applicable guidelines of the Bank
• Monitor the performance of servers, software and hardware.
• Ensure the smooth deployment of new patches and applications Update technical documentation whenever there is system change
• Provide user training aiming at end user empowerment
• Control user account on iDC like create new user, enable, disable and unlock, etc
• Provide system Support on Daily basis for staff and troubleshoot if any problem
• Acquire competency required to provide support to users of systems
• Coordinate and manage iDC vendor support management, review support performance and give recommendations for improvement
• Follow up scheduled and daily backups and keep track of backups as per the retention policy
• Responsible for iDC UAT and Test environments maintenance & support
• Manage, analyze, test and implement system core updates and patches suggested by the vendor based on UAT test results and approval decisions of the Bank
• Train other team members, support staffs and end users on iDC basic and advanced operations
• Ensure the Execution of the data archiving on iDC timely
• Trouble shoots problems reported by support staffs and branches and other end users;
• Performs other related activities as might be given to him from time to time by his immediate supervisor.

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related fields of studies.
2. Experience
• years related experience out of which 3 years as system administrator in Bank or financial institution

• Purpose of the Job/Job summary
• The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for ensuring data is available to users and database files and applications are secured and protected from accidental loss or corruption or damage as well as unauthorized access. Take periodic backups and control back up equipment. Establish periodic file backup mechanism. Prepare background information for preparation of budget respecting database and related requirements of the Bank.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure that database files and applications are secured and protected from loss or damage
• Ensure that database files maintain the required level of integrity
• Establish periodic file backup mechanism
• Devise fall-back mechanism in case of failure
• Acquire updated application software and database management systems software and installs the updated ones for proper utilization of additional features
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system
• Review workflow charts developed by application development and customization team to understand tasks computer will perform, such as updating records
• Control stock of back up equipment
• Propose periodic and refreshment software training courses required for the staff on application and Database Management Systems
• Administer the IDC (CORE Banking system) and other enterprise level systems databases and provide the necessary work guidance to end users
• Create and maintain log (audit trial) files for possible identification of intentional or unintentional improper operation on the database.
• Test programs or databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications
• Modify existing databases and database management systems
• Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database
• Train users and respond to enquiries respecting databases
• Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems, such as the installation of new databases
• Identify and evaluate industry trends in database systems to serve as a source of information and advice for management
• Develop data model describing data elements and how they are used, following standard procedures and using pen, template or computer software
• Select and enter codes to monitor database performance and to create production database
• Identify, evaluate and recommend hardware or software technologies to achieve desired performance
• Provide technical support to junior staff or end users
• Test changes to database applications or systems
• Performs other related activities as might be given to him from time to time by his immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
1. Education and training
• MSc/BSc in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related fields of studies.
2. Experience
• 3 to 5 years of work experience as Database Administrator preferably in Banking or Financial institutions
3. Technical and Behavioral competencies
• Analytical skill to monitor the database performance and evaluate complex information coming from a variety of sources
• Effective Communication Skill to communicate effectively with managers, developers, and other workers
• Detail – oriented
• Ability to identify problems and resolve them quickly
