Job Description

Brief about MACCFA
• MACCFA is a highly recognized, full-fledged freight forwarding company located in Ethiopia with a global network via its joint venture partner CEVA Logistics. We have extensive experience for over twenty-five years in customs clearing, freight forwarding, and ground transportation via overland trucking and railway. We are looking for competent and energetic professional who can be part of our dynamic and professional team for our Air Freight Business Unit.

Job Purpose
Primary purpose of the role

• The role holder is responsible for day-to-day Air Freight pricing process for both ad-hoc and Requests for Quote (RFQ) requests. Develop, implement and maintain the process, staff and technology solutions required to efficiently respond to complex, multi-regional, multi-modal customer Requests for Quote (RFQ). Liaise with product experts worldwide and provide an efficient conduit that will facilitate the expert’s guidance and product strategy to affect our price offers to clients through the development of logical pricing processes and technology. Focus on bid opportunities.

• To support the sales development process by delivering back up support through identifying and preparing sales quotations that are developed at winning and keeping profitable business. Dealing both globally and locally, the Pricing Centre has been developed to be a critical player in MACCFA’s ability to win and develop business. To be an industry leader in professionally managing and delivering optimal pricing results through maintaining supplier relationships, origin relationships and developing and maintaining Bi Lateral Agreements.

Key Pricing Accountabilities

• Manages the local pricing team day to day workload to ensure proper resource allocation to meet customer deadlines and increase win rate
• Coordinates complex, regional and local pricing teams required to respond timely and effectively to complex, high revenue potential bids.
• Develop processes and systems to enhance the bidding process and increase our hit rate based on pricing logic
• Liaise with product experts to ensure the logic used in pricing processes and applications is resulting in appropriately calculated cost and profit
• Undertake negotiations with the Global CEVA network to design, develop and implement Bi Lateral agreements that effectively locks a country into delivering set price structures, performance results and service standards.
• Monitor Bi Lateral Agreement validities against all services offered such as air, and value-added solutions.
• Effectively negotiate and drive rate reductions with origins to ensure that the local sales team is armed with effective selling rates to win and keep profitable business.
• Undertake regular meetings with our suppliers to ensure that local relationships are maintained and developed to drive stronger price returns.
• Must be able to undertake staff training indicatives through identifying staff weaknesses and services weaknesses to improve personal attributes, whilst increasing the company’s performance levels.
• To manage the Master Quote File and review the performance of each staff member on a monthly basis and present to management a performance report which includes full identification of workload by employee, number of bookings managed, number of quotations closed.
• Must be able to provide guidance to the staff on their results through the Log Book in order for them to see weaknesses, strengths and ways on improving efficiency of their working day.
• Must be able to manage and develop excel spreadsheets and graphs to reflect KPI output for customers and staff alike.
• Must be able to drive motivational techniques, ideas and staff enhancements to ensure that a true team environment is being developed and maintained.
• Escalation of issues to management at both origin and local level to ensure that a customer is giving the attention required to meet timeline expectations.
• Manage all RFQ’s that are received from start to finish, including price points, RFQ completion and follow up on success or decline of the submitted RFQ.
• Regularly gain pricing options against CEVA’s product listing including air, sea and road freight price points, whilst always looking at developing new consolidated products with the Product Managers.
• Maintain a KPI of 24-hour maximum turnaround in offering finished quotations to both local staff and the Global Network when requested.
• Centrally upload all RFQ’s into the Master Quote Log so that the team team can monitor and trace quotations offered by way of success.
• Ensure to work with the team in centrally managing Bi-lateral agreements to ensure that contracted rates in air and sea freight supervisor

Key Procurement Accountabilities
• Main areas of focus and accountability of the role – detail in order of importance the main areas of accountability of the role:

• Locally overseeing, reviewing, completing and processing various degrees of procurement forms, documents, databases, and related materials and information including analysing and selection of potential suppliers, issuing requests for quotations and orders, monitoring of market trends and conditions, negotiating service contracts and approving purchase requisitions within standards at a local level.
• Providing basic to more specialized analysis, interpretation and counsel to staff, management, and functional leaders regarding procurement policies, programs and practices; involves standard to large/complex operations and leading implementation and change. Local procurement champion.
• Providing feedback and guidance researching issues and developing recommendations to resolve management, supplier/vendor, and employee questions and requirements; assists with receiving customer feedback and coordinating resources and responses as required.
• Analysing and reviewing local ocean operations, results, feedback and related procurement information on an ongoing to as needed basis to determine market trends, draw conclusions, interpret findings, and presents results, proposals and recommendations to the country management.
• Ensuring the accuracy of more standard to very complex procurement and operational databases, reports, and related details through audits, queries, and operational reviews; works with teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure SLA’s are in place and conduct monthly/quarterly business reviews with local carriers, suppliers and vendors ensuring all MACCFA KPI’s are met.

Job Requirements
Education & Qualifications
• College, professional or university degree in supply chain, business administration, or related functional area or equivalent education and experience is often accepted.
• Experience

• Typically require at least five years of professional experience in Air procurement and pricing intermediate roles typically require at two to five years of experience and more senior roles including experience with specialized or technical programs or operations.
